1. Open Your Google Doc and Go to the Tools Tab

Open the Google Doc you want to review, then go to the top menu and click on “Tools”. This is where you’ll find access to the activity and viewer details.

2. Select the Activity Dashboard from the Tools Menu

In the “Tools” menu, click on “Activity dashboard” to open a panel with information about document activity and viewers; note that the Activity Dashboard is only available for Workspace accounts, not personal accounts.

3. View People You Shared the Document With and Their Viewing Details

Go to the “Viewers” section and click on the “Shared with” tab to see who you shared the document with and their viewing details. Activity details are only visible on files owned by Google Accounts with access to the Activity Dashboard.

4. View All Workspace Viewers

Still under the “Viewers” section, click on “All viewers” tab to see a list of viewers who are part of the same Workspace account as you.

5. Review Viewing Patterns in the Viewers Trend Section

Under “Viewers trend”, view the bar graph to see a visual trend of document views over time. This helps you track how often and when your document has been accessed.

6. Exit the Activity Dashboard to Return to Your Document

When you’re done reviewing, click the “X” in the top-right corner of the “Activity Dashboard” panel. This will close the dashboard and take you back to the main document view.
