How to Make an Image Transparent on Google Docs
To make an image transparent in Google Docs, follow the steps below.
1. Insert an Image into the Document
Find the “Insert” option in the top menu bar. Click it, and from the drop-down menu, select “Image.” You will have options to upload an image from your computer, select from Google Drive, or search the web. For example, if you have an image saved on your computer, click “Upload from computer” and select your image file.
2. Select the Inserted Image to Access Options
Once your image is inserted into the document, click on it to highlight it. Look for the “Image options” button in the toolbar above your document. If you don’t see this button, click on the three vertical dots to access more options. For instance, if you inserted a photo of a cat, click on the image of the cat to bring up the options.
3. Adjust the Image Transparency Using the Slider
With the Image options pane open, locate the “Adjustments” section. You will see a slider labeled “Opacity.” Click and drag this slider to the right to make the image more transparent. For example, if you want the cat photo to be 50% transparent in the background, move the slider until you achieve the desired level of transparency.
4. Finalize the Transparency and Close the Options Pane
Once you’re satisfied with the transparency level of your image, click “Close” in the Image options pane. Alternatively, you can click anywhere outside the pane to apply your changes. Your image, such as the transparent cat photo, should now be correctly adjusted within your Google Docs document.
