Follow the steps below to flip tables on Google Docs.
1. Copy the Table Content in Google Docs
Select your entire table in Google Docs to prepare for copying. Right-click on it and select Copy, or use “Ctrl + C” (Win) / “Command + C” (Mac).
2. Paste the Table into Google Drawings for Editing
In Google Docs, go to “Insert,” then click “Drawing,” and choose “+ New” to open Google Drawings.
Right-click and press “Ctrl + V” (Win) or “Cmd + V” (Mac) to paste the table here to enable image manipulation. Here, we have pasted the table as a drawing.
3. Download the Table as an Image from Google Drawings
Since Google Drawings doesn’t allow flipping the table directly, you’ll need to download it as an image. In Google Drawings, click on “Actions,” then tap “Download,” and select “.png” to save the table as an image.
4. Open a New Google Drawing and Upload the Table Image
Back in Google Docs, go to “Insert,” click on “Drawing,” and select “+ New” to open a new drawing.
Click “Insert image.”
Then tap “Browse.”
Select the table image you just downloaded and click “Open.”
5. Flip the Uploaded Table Image
Once the table image is uploaded to the new Drawing, right-click it, select “Rotate,” and choose “Flip horizontally” or “Flip vertically” to achieve the desired flip.
In our example, we will choose to the image “Flip horizontally.”
6. Save and Insert the Flipped Table Image into Google Docs
Click “Save and close” in Google Drawings to insert the flipped image back into your Google Doc.
7. Resize and Position the Flipped Table Image in Your Document
Click on the inserted image to resize or move it as needed within your document. Use the corner handles to adjust its dimensions, then drag it to your desired location.
