Delete a Box From a Table in Google Docs
Follow the steps below to delete an unnecessary box from a table in Google Docs.
1. Select the Borders That You Want to Remove
To remove a box from your table, start by selecting its border. For this example, we will remove the first box in the top left corner of the table, as it contains no value.

To do this, hover your mouse cursor over one of the borders until it changes to a “cross-like” icon. Then “click” to highlight the border. Hold down the “Control” key from your keyboard, then “click” the other border to select both borders simultaneously.

2. Go to Border Width
With the borders selected, click on the “Border width” menu in the toolbar. Choose “0pt” from the options. This will make the selected borders invisible immediately.

That’s it! You’ve successfully made the box disappear from the table.
