Follow the steps below to add new rows or columns in Google Docs.
1. Select the Table You Want to Add Rows or Columns
Click on the cell next to where you want to add rows or columns. It can be to the left, right, above, or below the desired location. In the example image, we want to add Group E in between Group A and B.

2. Right-Click Then Choose Insert Columns
“Right-click” and select “+ Insert column right”. This will pop a new blank column on the right side of the selected cell.

Now, encode the needed data for that column. Alternatively, you may try pressing “Alt + O + 2 + R”(for right column) or “L”(for left column).

3. Right-Click Then Choose Insert Rows
To Insert rows, “right-click” and select “+ Insert row below”. This will pop a new blank row below the selected cell.

Alternatively, you may try the shortcut “Alt + O + 2 + A”(for row above) or “B”(for row below).
